WSO2 is now more than 15 years old and doing great at the moment in the Integration and IAM domain. So when you move to the latest WSO2 IAM products you get more advantages than in older versions. I can pinpoint a few of them while you go through this blog post.

In this article, I am planning to discuss some key pain points that will come across during an Identity Server migration to the latest versions.

Please note all these are from my own experience and you might also experience the exact same thing in different ways

Pain point 1: Struggling to enable login with email and password or mobile_no and password or a different combination

With IS 5.11.0 (WUM) onwards this feature is available as “Multi-attribute login support” out-of-the-box. You do not need the email as username feature that you used in older versions. If you are designing a new CIAM solution for your organization, “Multi-attribute login support” is a key feature that you should consider to cater for your business requirements

Attention!!
If you earlier used email as username, then you need to migrate the data mannually to match the default schema.
